I tried to start this blog almost two years ago and did not stick with it. Now here I am, still feeling chunky and not much else has changed.
I recently was ill and managed to loss about 7 pounds in the process. I really can't tell you how excited I was for that. So much, that I am finally (after much proding) taking steps to continue on a weight loss journey.
Last night my best friend, aunt and I started water aerobics. I had taken this class well over 10 years ago and loved it. I had forgotten that it would kick my ass.... But the first step to getting fit, it making an effort to do something, anything, about it. So there we were, trying to do the moves that the instructor was showing us and trying to stay afloat in a pool full of women. No easy feat let me tell you. Last night was the first night so I know she was taking it easy on us. I can only imagine what horrors await on Wednesday night.
As I creep up on 40 I know that I will not get back the figure I had in high school, and quite frankly I don't want it. I also know that the longer I have waited, the more of a challenge it will be for me. Right now, I am topping out at 230 pounds and just getting to 199 is my first goal. My ultimate goal is to be 150-155. I am pretty sure that I would look pretty damn good at that weight :)
well I am signing off for now, and will check back in after class on Wednesday night.
